On Mother’s Day 2020, 49-year-old Suzanne Morphew set out for what was believed to be a bike ride near her home in Maysville, Colorado. It was a crisp spring morning in the Rockies, the kind Suzanne loved. By nightfall, she was gone.
When Suzanne’s daughters couldn’t reach her, they called a neighbor to check the house. Her bike was found off a nearby trail, but the scene didn’t add up. There was no sign of a struggle. No trace of Suzanne. A massive search unfolded across rugged mountain terrain, drawing national attention and speculation.

Suzanne was vibrant, kind, and deeply loved by her family and friends. But beneath the surface, her marriage to Barry Morphew was unraveling. Investigators uncovered secret text messages, deleted communications, and a growing sense that Suzanne was ready to start a new chapter of her life. Within a year, Barry Morphew was arrested for her murder — though the case would take unexpected turns.
In September 2023, more than three years after she vanished, Suzanne’s remains were found in a remote area of Saguache County. Her story is one of love, control, freedom, and the desperate search for truth. To learn more about the Suzanne Morphew case, and see pictures and videos, click here!
