Case Summary

Ann Gotlib was 12 years old when she disappeared in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 1, 1983. That summer afternoon, Ann left her home riding her blue bicycle to visit a nearby convenience store and community center, a route she had taken many times before. Witnesses later reported seeing her near the Bashford Manor Mall area, but Ann never returned home. When hours passed without word from her, her family contacted police and a large search effort quickly began across Louisville. Investigators followed hundreds of leads over the years, including reported sightings, tips involving possible suspects, and theories connected to other crimes against young girls in the region, but none ever led to definitive answers. The case became one of Kentucky’s most haunting child disappearances, marked by false leads, conflicting witness accounts, and decades of unanswered questions. More than forty years later, Ann Gotlib has never been found, and no one has ever been convicted in connection to her disappearance.
